Soul Sanctuary feature in The Church of England's Christmas #FollowTheStar Advert

Soul Sanctuary Gospel Choir recording "We Three Kings" at St Martin in the Fields.

The release of the annual Church of England Christmas Advert is fast becoming a key moment in the run up to Christmas and provides a refreshing alternative to the high street brands competing for our hard-earned cash!  Come to church is the message, and take some time to think about the coming of Jesus Christ.

As a choir we are committed to bringing gospel to new audiences and worship settings so we were thrilled to be asked to provide the music this year.  And singing regularly in a Church of England environment means that we were well-positioned on the Anglican scene for such a request to come our way.

Our band-leader and tenor, Peter Yarde Martin set to work on an arrangement of the well known carol, "We Three Kings" with the assistance of one of our Choir Directors, Chris Bullock and the choir recorded the track at St Martin-in-the-Fields in October this year (2019).  A short snippet from the recording session can be seen in the advert alongside the work of an amazing church, St Peter's in Stockton-on-tees, whose congregation is committed to a wide range of social work which includes working alongside asylum seekers and migrants whose claims are being considered.

There's another version of the soundtrack which you can hear on Soundcloud, featuring more of the choir and look out for the track on all the streaming services.
