Back to Maida Vale for BBC Radio 2 - Good Friday 2016

Soul Sanctuary will be back at the legendary Maida Vale Studios in a few weeks, to record five gospel songs for BBC Radio 2's special Good Friday broadcast 'At the Foot of the Cross'

This time last year, we were recording a 55-minute version of our gospel Easter oratorio 'The Resurrection' at Maida Vale. It was broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on Easter Sunday.

We're thrilled to be returning to national radio once again to share this beautiful music - contemporary gospel music - with listeners who might not normally encounter it. Soul Sanctuary are hard at work on five gospel songs, including Kirk Franklin's classic 'Hosannah', and a bold contemporary classical re-imagining of CeCe Winans' song 'Fill My Cup'.

'At the Foot of the Cross' has been written by BBC producer Katherine Longworth. It will have a Passion narrative, interspersed with music from Soul Sanctuary Gospel Choir, The Priests, Richie Cottle, and a number of award-winning choirs and singers.

Some of our amazing guest soloists from 'The Resurrection' will be joining us again, including Tracey Campbell, Lawrence Rowe and Hermione Thomas.
